Just two weeks into our challenge grant campaign, we're thrilled with the outpouring of support and enthusiasm for our film.
As of Tuesday, Jan 21st, we have received donations that bring us to 75% of our goal for the $10,000 matching grant. We need your help to reach the finish line by the end of next week!
All charitable donations or pledges made before January 31, 2025 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000. Donations will go towards the finishing funds to complete our film before our premiere in February.
With a total fundraising goal of $100,000 to cover outstanding costs of completing the film, we are also seeking corporate sponsorship partners to help us get over the finish line. If you are a business interested in corporate sponsorship, World Life Productions can share more information about the benefits of supporting this documentary at various levels – including the opportunity to become a presenting sponsor for film premieres and underwriting the show on PBS. Please contact Executive Producer, Alicia Albee at [email protected] or 917.353.0575 for more information.
Donations will cover the hard costs of finishing the film such as: editing, music library, sound mix, archival materials, insurance, graphics, and mastering to PBS specifications.
We are grateful for EVERY donation we receive and appreciate your support. Stay tuned - we'll continue to update this page with our progress!
A note from the Director, Devon Chivvis:
My grandmother, Nina Bremer began photographing modern homes in the late 1940’s –at first it was out of admiration for these avant-garde designs, but within just a few decades, her photographs would memorialize these homes and the history of the powerful modern movement in New Canaan.
Inspired by Nina who was an artist and a true New Canaan “modernist”, I began this documentary almost 20 years ago to carry on this legacy. This film is a work of passion, and an homage to my family as well as the artists and intellectuals, risk takers and friends who made New Canaan modern…
I hope the film will give back both by sharing this never-before-told story on-screen, but also by preserving the work of the architects and designers who launched a design revolution from my hometown of New Canaan, CT.
